Trainer Andrew Forsman has indicated that Positivity, fresh off her victory in the Group 3 MRC Foundation Cup (2000m), is likely to contest the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m).

Forsman is now seeking a jockey to ride at the light weight of 50 kilograms.

Initially hesitant to push his Group 2 SA Fillies Classic (2500m) winner too hard this spring, Positivity’s recent performance, where she narrowly defeated Future History, has changed his outlook.

“We are very tempted,” Forsman told Racing.com about Positivity’s Caulfield Cup chances.

“I suppose when you have 50 kilos in a $5 million race, you have to consider it pretty seriously.

“We brought her into work without being too serious, without any grand plans as a four-year-old mare.

“She’s going a lot better than I thought she might, to be honest.”

Harry Coffey has partnered the mare in her two starts this campaign and will ride her again in this Saturday’s Group 3 Bart Cummings (2500m).

While Coffey has ridden at 50 kilograms on eight occasions, he hasn’t done so since his apprentice days in 2011.

“She’s not going to get a penalty, so we’re exploring our options at the moment. In the next week or so, we might try to line up a few people,” Forsman added regarding the search for a Caulfield Cup rider.

Positivity is currently a $31 quote with horse racing bookmakers for the Caulfield Cup.
