Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 6, 2024 Journalists Posted October 6, 2024 GOVERNOR SAM (c, 2, Improbable–I'm Betty G, by Into Mischief) kept his momentum rolling, winning the Indian Summer Stakes at Keeneland Sunday. Now riding a three race win streak, the OBS April grad entered as the 8-5 favorite off wins in both the Tyro Stakes at Monmouth and the Exacta Systems Rosie's Stakes at Colonial last out. With first run past the quarter pole, he fought off a strong late charge from Out On Bail (Tiz the Law) to relegate that rival to second once more (the pair also ran one-two in the Rosie's). The win gave jockey Paco Lopez a milestone 4,000th career victory. Lifetime Record: 5-4-0-0. O-Bregman Family Racing LLC and Swinbank Stables, LLC; B-Stoneriggs Farm; T-George Weaver.
