Bombs Away In Bourbon Stakes As Minaret Station Wins at 38-1

38-1 longshot Minaret Station (c, 2, Instilled Regard–Beau Recall {Ire}, by Sir Prancealot {Ire}) came flying in the final sixteenth to upset the GII Castle & Key Bourbon Stakes and earn his paid spot into the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf next month. Seeming to be hopelessly beaten as a trio of leaders spun off the far turn in tandem a ways ahead of him, the son of freshman stallion Instilled Regard (by Arch) switched off the rail at the eighth pole and was absolutely cruising in high gear to the wire, landing the upset ahead of 11-1 Golden Afternoon (Goldencents). Minaret Station is the first graded stakes winner for his sire. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-1.
