Cranbourne hosts a bumper nine-race meeting this Friday night to help kickstart a massive weekend of Victorian racing. With the track rated a Good 4 and the rail set true, punter can expect perfect conditions. The first race at Cranbourne is set to commence at 5:40pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Cranbourne: Our Paramour

Our Paramour was a good thing beat on debut at the Cranbourne 1300m, where she was desperately held up for a run and only saw daylight late to go down by a long neck. The three-year-old followed that up with a strong effort when third in tougher company at Flemington on September 22. The Contributer filly steps up in trip again to the 2025m, and if she can get off the rail at the right time out of barrier one, Our Paramour should prove too good for maiden grade.

3yo Filly | T: Mark Walker | J: Blake Shinn (55kg)

Next Best at Cranbourne: Placentia Bay

Placentia Bay has not done much wrong through her two-start career. She won on debut at the Cranbourne 1600m when settling outside the lead and kicking clear, then backed it up when going down by the barest of margins at Bendigo in a photo finish. The Churchill progeny should gain a relatively uncontested lead from barrier five, and on his return to the Cranbourne mile, Placentia Bay should prove too hard to run down.

Next Best

Race 9 – Placentia Bay Silks#8 Placentia Bay (5)

4yo Gelding | T: Ciaron Maher | J: Ben Allen (59.5kg)

Best Value at Cranbourne: Queen Amanjena

Despite being rolled as a short-priced favourite on debut at Geelong, Queen Amanjena looks ideally placed as she steps up to 1300m. The Per Incanto filly was left flat-footed when the whips were cracking over 1130m, so the rise in trip should suit this girl perfectly. From barrier one, Carleen Hefel will have Queen Amanjena stalking the lead throughout, and if she can show a turn of foot, she represents great each-way value with horse racing bookmakers.

Race 3 – Queen Amanjena Silks#11 Queen Amanjena (1)

3yo Filly | T: Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman | J: Carleen Hefel (55kg)
