A very encouraging third placed effort at Wolverhampton should stand her in good stead at a venue she seems to relish. The booking of jockey Martin Harley seems a very positive appointment and Gay Kellaway’s charge should certainly be there or thereabouts come the winning line.

Lady Marrigold aims to go one better than her second placed finish here at Lingfield previously. The lightly raced 3 year old seemed to improve for the step up in trip and should go well once again.

Of the remainder both Escape To The City and Sharp Operator are interesting contenders as one makes their handicap debut and the other returns from a 105 day absence.

An obvious selection it may be but Dawnieriver has been given a real opportunity to make it three victories on the bounce. Yes the horse has more weight to carry but it’s safe to say today’s competition looks no better than the level she’s been beating in her last two starts. The notable exception to that above rule is top weight Hoo Bally Diva who drops down to Class 4 after a decent effort in a higher grade last time. The Bob Buckler trained seven year old is the most likely threat but the yard haven’t been firing on all cylinders of late and neither has jockey Sean Houilihqn. Dawnieriver seems to meet the criteria to find the winners enclosure once again with Hoo Bally Diva the best of the rest.
