Visit Dabble

Queensland horse racing will return to Eagle Farm for a 10-race program this Saturday afternoon, with the first race set to jump at 11:38am AEST. The track was rated as a Soft 5 at the time of acceptances; however, with no rain forecast for Friday and Saturday, expect an upgrade to a Good surface before the meeting kicks off. The rail will be in the +6m position for the entire circuit.

Best Bet at Eagle Farm: Talk Time

Talk Time was a dominant winner at Toowoomba last start, where the Lindsay Hatch-trained gelding picked his way through the field before running away from his rivals to record a 3.3-length victory. The son of Spill The Beans has shown good ability to race on any ground, and now that he strikes a good track in a weaker grade, he should only improve fourth-up. If Andrew Mallyon can settle in the first four from barrier six, Talk Time will prove too good again.

Best Bet

Race 5 – Talk Time#8 Talk Time (6)

5yo Gelding | T: Lindsay Hatch | J: Andrew Mallyon (58kg)

Next Best at Eagle Farm: Torabella

Tony Gollan and Angela Jones will combine with Torabella, who will be returning from a five-month spell for her second racing preparation. Since finishing eighth in the Listed Princess Stakes at the end of her last campaign, the daughter of Toronado has been to the trials and produced a nice piece of work over 1050m at Deagon under little to no riding late. Although she has drawn barrier 13, Torabella’s gate speed will allow her to settle outside the leader and prove hard to run down late.

Next Best

Race 6 – Torabella#8 Torabella (13)

4yo Mare | T: Tony Gollan | J: Angela Jones (55kg)

Best Value at Eagle Farm: Koruto

Koruto will clash with Junipal for the second straight start; however, the Tom Dougall-trained galloper will have a 2.5kg weight swing in his favour following a narrow loss over 1615m at Doomben. This son of Written Tycoon settled behind the speed, took over with 150m to go but was nabbed in the final strides to finish second. Although he has drawn the outside barrier (8), Angela Jones can push forward on this improving stayer to settle on speed. With little to no speed expected in this contest, Koruto is a great each-way bet with horse racing bookmakers.

Best Value

Race 4 – Koruto#7 Koruto (8)

7yo Gelding | T: Tom Dougall | J: Angela Jones (53.5kg)

+800 with PlayUp
