Surely they are doing measurements each day as part of their track management? Track reports seem to be getting more unreliable.

You don't usually get updates between withdrawal morning and morning and afternoon the day prior the meeting do you?

Sometimes you do for bigger meetings. What would be interesting is if they irrigated late this week. Surely more information is better especially if it is being collected anyway. curious
Yes. So Vic don't provide updates between acceptance morning and the day before the meeting either.

Yes they do or am I reading it wrong. Moonee Valley races on 1 November. 1 Day of nominations close [after nominations close] Nominations close Monday 28th October. 2 Day before acceptances close [after nominations close] Day before Acceptances 29th October 3 Day of acceptances close [before acceptances close] Acceptances close Wednesday 30th October. 4 Day before Race Day [after acceptances close] Day before Race day 31st October. 5 Race Day [after acceptances close] Race Day 1 November.
curious
In that case, acceptances are evidently on Wednesday for a Friday meeting but the requirement is still for acceptance day updates and the day before the races. Here it is usual for acceptances to be on Wednesday for a Saturday meeting, so you get updates on Wednesday, then on Friday. Have a look at the reports for Ellerslie and Riccarton today for example. Trojan
Ok. But I bet you get an update from Flemington next Thursday.
Trojan
The other thing to consider though is that they have changed the noms and acceptances timings for Monday races haven't they?
Special Agent
Maybe to conceal an underlying problem. Why are horses slipping on all sorts of tracks around the country? Is it because the standard protocols are flawed?

Special Agent
In any other industry a groundsman who failed to present a perfect pitch would be dismissed.
Special Agent
Why is it acceptable to provide an unsafe surface? It is not once in a while. It's now common place.
