Was expecting with the unsettled forecast and likelihood of rain, they'd take insurance & start irrigating up there early - to avoid the firm track then showers scenario that we've seen lead to slippery surfaces in the past (and abandoned meetings). But I don't think this happened? Fingers crossed for everyone up there that things work out ok ... Quote

curious Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Meeting News Te Rapa Track Update | Thursday 15 January Due to very dry weather in the past week, punishing winds and a mains water line burst the track is drier than might ordinarily be the case. There has been 16mm of irrigation applied in the last 24 hours and it is out to a Good4 this afternoon. Given the forecast of a fine, hot day tomorrow it is expected to be a Good3 for racing. The racing strip was vertidrained last Tuesday/Wednesday which will help in providing some cushion. 1 Quote
