Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 1, 2024 Journalists Share Posted November 1, 2024 After a 12-1 upset in the GI Juvenile Turf Sprint, Godolphin's IMMERSIVE (f, 2, Nyquist–Gap Year, by Bernardini) struck for the favorites' players, coming with a marauding run widest into the stretch and powering clear to remain unbeaten and secure the 2-year-old filly championship with a dominating performance in Friday's GI NetJets Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar. Off without incident from gate three beneath Manny Franco, the homebred filly settled in mid-division, inside of GI Frizette Stakes winner Scottish Lassie (McKinzie) as 'TDN Rising Star' Nooni (Win Win Win) went winging on the front end, covering the opening half-mile in :44.99 with Japan's American Bikini (Jpn) (American Pharoah) closest in pursuit. Between rivals entering the second turn, Immersive was asked for her best and made stealthy progress four wide at the quarter pole. Vodka With a Twist (Thousand Words) and Scottish Lassie made runs in unison into the lane, but Immersive swamped them under a full head of steam and shot clear. Quickick (McKinzie) was third. Immersive is the second Juvenile Fillies winner for her sire, whose daughter Vequist won the 2020 renewal. It was a second win at the Breeders' Cup for Franco and an 11th for trainer Brad Cox.
