Six years ago, the team of Hronis Racing, trainer John Sadler, and jockey Joel Rosario captured the GI Breeders' Cup Classic with Accelerate (Lookin At Lucky). Saturday the team was reunited in the Breeders' Cup's winner's circle as they capped the championship day card with Full Serrano (Arg) (h, 5, Full Mast–Serra Do Mar {Arg}, by Jump Start) in the $1-million GI Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile. At 13-1, Full Serrano tracked Japanese shipper and pacesetter T O Saint Denis (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}) behind :22.30 and :45.47 fractions before taking command with a flourish in the stretch to pull away as he pleased. GII Carter Handicap winner and MGISP Post Time (Frosted) closed from the back to nab second, while last-out H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes winner Domestic Product (Practical Joke) got up for third. Full Serrano covered the eight furlongs in 1.35.48.

A listed stakes winner last year in Argentina and graded placed there this January when trained by Diego Pena, Full Serrano made his first start for his new connections at Del Mar in August, winning a one-mile optional allowance. Routed to the 1 1/4-mile GI Pacific Classic, he finished second while registering a 99 Beyer Speed Figure. He missed the California Crown after spiking a fever, which Sadler cited as the reason he pointed Full Serrano to the Dirt Mile rather than to the Classic.
