Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 29, 2024 Journalists Share Posted November 29, 2024 In a gutsy final furlong duel, RATTLE N ROLL (h, 5, Connect–Jazz Tune, by Johannesburg) put away previously undefeated Most Wanted (Candy Ride {Arg}) in the final strides to take victory in the GII Clark Stakes at Churchill Downs. Weaving his way through a bunched up field around the far turn, the GII Lukas Classic third, who was on the also-eligible list but failed to draw in for the GI Breeders' Cup Classic, engaged Most Wanted who had been involved up front for most of the running. The two bobbed heads down to the final few yards when Rattle N Roll finally put away his rival and got separation under the wire. An lengthy inquiry involving the third, fourth and fifth place finishers all well behind the front two resulted in a disqualification and 46-1 longshot Uno Mas Bourbon (Macho Uno) filling out the trifecta.
