Best Bet at Darwin: Valaroc Debuting at Fannie Bay over 1000m at 0-58 level on December 6, Valaroc started well before drifting wide exiting the back straight to slip back to sixth place. Re-grouping, the son of Valentia settled on the fence approaching the final bend, before winding up in the home straight. Denied a passage along the rails, Valaroc had to adjust at the 100m and headed wide before making ground on the leaders to finish a narrow third. With a slice of luck, the six-year-old gelding will be hard to beat.
