Immaculately Bred Justify Colt March of Time Returns a Winner at Santa Anita

Missing for over a year since finishing a strong second on his lone other appearance to date at Los Alamitos, MARCH OF TIME (c, 3, Justify–Untouched Talent, by Storm Cat) made up for lost time, sprinting clear through the final eighth of a mile to graduate by about three lengths in sharp time. Very quickly into stride for Juan Hernandez, the beautifully bred bay was displaced on the front end by the debuting $725,000 Keeneland September grad Pursuit of Freedom (Speightstown), who blazed a trail from the front. Kept within striking distance on the turn, March of Time was asked for his best leaving the quarter pole, went to the weakening pacesetter outside the furlong grounds and pulled away to take it by about three lengths. The winner's Grade III Sorrento Stakes-winning dam has produced GISW Bodemeister (Empire Maker) and MGSW Under the Stars (Pioneerof the Nile)–both trained by Bob Baffert; MGISP Fascinating (Smart Strike); and the stakes-placed Himiko (American Pharoah). March of Time is owned in partnership by baseball stars Alex Bregman, Walker Buehler, newly signed by the Boston Red Sox after plying his trade with the LA Dodgers and Jill Baffert. MARCH OF TIME ($4.60) made a big move under @JJHernandezS19 in the 4th at @SantaAnitaPark. The three-year-old colt by Justify (@CoolmoreAmerica) is a half brother to Bodemeister trained by @BobBaffert.
