Thomass
Certainly cost NAVIGATOR 2nd when carelessly allowing GRAIL SEEKER to drift in at the 100M Stott released of 4k from his @15k payday Under the previous rule would have been relegated behind NAVIGATOR with the undeserving SACRED SATONO winning...clearly ridiculous Fining Stott doesn't help the connections of NAVIGATOR though...losing 50K by a nose after dropping 3/4L back when checked then coming again If relegations are allowed when interfering one on one then surely this type of situation requires the connections of the interferee to compensate the horse interfered with? Dock GS's connections 50K obviously Taken to it's logical conclusion, look after the punters and promote NAVIGATOR to 2nd as well It's exactly the same as stewards assessing a one on one relegation
Thomass
So confirmation from NAVAGATOR's jockey that he thought it cost the connections 50K Imagine being an owner, observing the interference, and being told 'that's racing" and losing 50k through a jockey's interference is ok At least give them the 4k fine Mr Goodwin maintained that Mr Stott should have straightened sooner than he did. He also said that NAVIGATOR ran third, and Mr Elliot had told Stewards he believed have would have run 2nd, if GRAIL SEEKER hadn’t moved in on him. I'm sure McNab would have disagreed. Yeah Na! Nothing in it like kissing the sister.
Thomass
yes should've posted the vid nasty...thanks for that Note a head behind at the time forced back to 3/4L then came again to be a nose behind 2nd Just dock GRAIL SEEKER owners 50K ASAP
Thomass
Stotty not a big fan of the suits and their deafness Like other talented riders who have come to New Zealand, Stott is well acquainted with racing’s judiciary system here, admitting he is not a fan of the way some of our rules are enforced. “Rules are rules and they are different in each country and I realise you have to abide by them. “But I think here not a lot of emphasis is placed on what the jockeys actually say in the room.” Stott copped that on Saturday when what looked like a minor careless riding charge when racing clear in the Telegraph cost him $4000 and a seven-day suspension. “I didn’t think it was worth that,” he says matter-of-factly. While that means he will miss a Trentham return trip on Saturday, he can ride at the Wellington Cup meeting the week after and, more importantly, the far more lucrative Karaka Millions on January 25." The owners (agin the rules) should sub him the 4k...especially as the 'new rule ok' should be costing them 50K!!

Special Agent
The punishment was harsh and he looked hard done by to me. When was the last time a jockey was fined $4K here?
Wingman
It was careless riding on a horse that was the winner a long way from the finish line. The old rules would have seen Grail Seeker relegated to 3rd. The jockey got off lightly, the connections of the 3rd horse got hit hard, but I would rather have the current rules. Bottom line, if it were a 30K r65 or 40K r75 nobody would care. Special Agent
It shouldn't make any difference what the race is.

Thomass
So BRAVE SPIRIT had to be Brave...on the receiving end of an absolute thrashing from Stott yesterday Fined $350 where his fee was $1900 Over the shoulder pounding on the flank got up by a nose Should've been relegated for blatant cheating #cheatsprosper

Chief Stipe
I'm probably like 99.9% of those who watched and didn't notice it until @Thomass posted. Then again he probably didn't notice either until he saw it in the Stipes report!
Chief Stipe
Good Jockey this Kevin Stott. Hands and heels in the last at Pukekohe just now and lifted the winner over the line!

Then again he probably didn't notice either until he saw it in the Stipes report! Well I noticed. NZTR won't have. They have the same head in the sand approach that got the greyhounds where they are now. 6 or 7 flagrant breaches. We need relegation for that. If the 99.9% is correct, then most of those who would notice don't watch or participate any longer. Edited 3 minutes ago by curious
