(Photo by George Sal/Racing Photos) The Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained I Wish I Win has returned to work in impressive fashion at Pakenham on Tuesday morning, with the two-time Group 1 winner going on to score in his first jump-out since failing in the Everest (1200m) on October 19. The son of Savabeel did it nicely with Jamie Melham in the saddle, cruising past his rivals to suggest the six-year-old could be nearing his best heading into the autumn racing carnival. Katherine Coleman was on course at Pakenham on Tuesday morning, and while speaking with Racing.com, couldn’t have been happier with the work. “Couldn’t have asked for anymore,” said Coleman. “He was just out there for a soft trial today. “We just instructed Jamie (Melham) to keep him on the bridal and not really ask him to round it out, and we were really pleased with how he finished it off and how he pulled up. “We gave him a nice break, he had sort of been up and going for a while without having a proper spell for quite a while, even though he’s lightly raced he’d still been in work for quite a long time. “It was probably the first time he’s been able to have decent break in a while and I think he’s enjoyed that. He seems to have come back in really good order. “Everything that he’s done has been bold and happy in his work, he’s been carrying on nice and fresh and happy and just showing all the right signs, and I think we saw that in his trial today.” Coleman was hesitant to confirm a return date for the stable flagbearer for the autumn; however, the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) on March 8 appears to be the most likely assignment, where I Wish I Win is currently rated a $15.00 chance with Neds.
