Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 7 Journalists Share Posted February 7 Looking to make a statement after a more than solid start to his career last summer at the Big A when he ran a game second to GSW Mentee (City of Light), it was Colloquial (Vekoma–Terminology, by Bernardini) who graduated at the Big A on Friday afternoon and earned himself a 'TDN Rising Star' in the process. Tabbed as the heavy favorite at 75 cents on the dollar, the colt tracked One Nine Hundred (Dialed In) up the backstretch. Ranging up on his target around the far turn, the 3-year-old hit the accelerator and sailed by. Colloquial entered the lane in firm control and won by seven lengths. The final running time was 1:16.89. TDN's Racing Editor Steve Sherack highlighted the initial effort by Colloquial in his 'Second Chances' series in December. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0. Sales History: KEESEP '23 $240,000. O-Harrell Ventures, LLC and Starlight Racing; B-Michael Orem & J.B. Orem (KY); T-George Weaver. COLLOQUIAL makes a statement! He breaks his maiden impressively in Race 7 at Aqueduct with @jockeyfranco aboard for his third win of the day, this one for trainer George Weaver. pic.twitter.com/J0Qe7vIHtR — NYRA () (@TheNYRA) February 7, 2025 The post Colloquial Says ‘I Gotta Run’ En Route To ‘TDN Rising Star’ At Big A appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
