Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted 6 hours ago Journalists Share Posted 6 hours ago Tattersalls has released the catalogue for the Craven Breeze-Up Sale, of which dual Group 1 winner Vandeek (GB), Champion Two-Year-Old Native Trail (GB) and more recently G1 Futurity Trophy winner Hotazhell (GB) (Too Darn Hot {GB}) are graduates from. The sale is set to take place between Monday 14 and Wednesday 16 April. A total of 182 juveniles have been catalogued for the Craven Breeze-Up Sale, which features progeny by top-class sires like Dubawi, Blue Point, Kingman, Mehmas, Too Darn Hot, Wootton Bassett, Havana Grey and more. Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented, “The Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale is unquestionably Europe's leading breeze up sale for Group 1 winners with Hotazhell the latest two-year-old graduate to score at the highest level, following in the illustrious footsteps of outstanding juvenile Vandeek and Classic winners Native Trail and Cachet. “Both last year's Derby runner up Ambiente Friendly and Believing, the top-rated sprint filly in Europe who sold for 3,000,000 guineas at last year's December Mares Sale, etched their own marks on the sale's roll of honour and the calibre and the consistency of Group 1 winners sourced from the Craven Breeze Up Sale are a testament to the outstanding quality that Europe's leading breeze up consignors offer year after year. This year's catalogue is no exception and the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale looks certain to attract a strong contingent of domestic and international buyers.” He added, “The 'breeze' for the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale will take place at Newmarket's Rowley Mile Racecourse on Monday 14th April starting at 9.30am, with the sale taking place on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th April after the conclusion of racing on the first two days of Newmarket's three-day Craven Meeting.” Willie Browne's Mocklershill will offer the largest consignment with 10 juveniles catalogued, followed by Thomond O'Mara's Knockanglass Stables and last year's leading consignor Tally-Ho Stud, who are both represented by nine horses. Glending Stables, consignors of the sale's top lot in 2024 and dual Group 1 winner Vandeek in 2023, will offer five lots whilst Eddie Linehan's Lackendarra Stables, who consigned Group 1 Futurity Trophy winner Hotazhell last year, has three juveniles catalogued. Buyers looking to benefit from additional incentives will be well catered for with four lots entered in the £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus Scheme, six two-year-olds eligible for French Owners' Premiums, 20 lots entered in the Swedish Derby and Oaks Series and seven fillies registered for the Great British Bonus Scheme. There are also several lots entered in lucrative Tattersalls sales races including the £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes, the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes and the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes. Along with the stellar cast of progeny by leading European-based sires, there is a good representation of American pedigrees, with the likes of American Pharoah, Bolt D'Oro, Justify, Not This Time, Street Sense, Speightstown and more represented.
