Group 2 Autumn Stakes (1400m) winner Angel Capital holds the call as $4.20 favourite with horse racing bookmakers; however, it appears to be a wide-open betting race with a stack of chances throughout betting. The Bjorn Baker-trained Point And Shoot makes the trip south from Sydney after a dominant win against the older horses and shares the second line of betting at $6.00 Picklebet, alongside Sepals who will go in search of back-to-back wins after claiming the Group 3 C.S. Hayes Stakes (1400m) last time out. Group 1 VRC Derby (2500m) winner Goldrush Guru ($10.00) appears the likely leader and did enough second-up in the C.S. Hayes to suggest he can take dramatic improvement heading into the $1 million feature. Jamie Melham gets legged aboard from barrier five and should have no issues crossing to the lead despite the large field on Saturday. Meanwhile, New Zealand hopeful Savaglee ($10.00) brings a different form-line for punters to assess, with the Savabeel colt finishing third behind Here To Shock in the Group 1 BCD Group Sprint (1400m) at Te Rapa on February 8. The chances don’t end there, with the likes of Feroce ($18.00) and Plymouth ($16.00) sure to have plenty of admirers at the big odds with Bet365.
