The 17-shot FLOOD ZONE (c, 3, Frosted–Curls for Girls, by Curlin) upset the GIII Gotham Stakes Saturday in his first start for trainer Brad Cox. He had to put away talented New York-bred Sand Devil (Violence), who suffered his first loss when settling for second, down the lane but had to problems doing so, hitting the wire alone as Sand Devil and Garamond (Uncle Mo) filled out the minor placings. With the win, Flood Zone earned 50 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. Lifetime Record: 3-2-1-0.
