(Photo by Pat Scala/Racing Photos) Angel Capital will continue his racing career under the guidance of trainer Chris Waller after Yulong Investments purchased the three-year-old following his impressive first-up win in the Group 2 Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield. Former Trainer Clinton McDonald confirmed on Monday that the new ownership group had decided to transfer the Harry Angel colt to Waller’s stable. Angel Capital was the favourite for the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) but was scratched on race morning last Saturday after a scope revealed mucus. McDonald shared his thoughts on the transfer with Racing.com. “I wish Yulong all the best with Angel Capital and I’ve got no doubt in my mind that he’s a Group 1 winner in the making,” he said. “It’s unfortunate what occurred on Saturday, I was extremely confident he would win his Group 1 in the (Australian) Guineas, so it will come as no surprise if he wins a Group 1 race, whether that be this preparation or if he returns as a four-year-old in the spring and makes a big statement. “He is the type of horse who I believed could be freshened up and aimed at a race like the William Reid, a Goodwood in Adelaide or a Group 1 in Sydney.” Horse racing news View the full article Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
