Basil
Surprised nobody's seen fit to mention this: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/109643761/mp-chris-bishop-to-introduce-bill-for-byo-alcohol-at-the-races Nothing short of a brain transplant would ever induce me to vote for NZ First, but all power to their elbow on this one I say. Now if they'd only remember that it's also a kiwi tradition to take a full chilli bin to cricket matches as well...? 2
Happy Sunrise
I am not sure about this Basil.I think bad behaviour can occur with BYO or not. Having booze a bit more expensive and controlled selling maybe more appropriate on big days but not during regular meetings. There has been some pretty feral behaviour at times with people fighting, going onto the track, throwing bottles on the track etc which will happen with or without BYO. But it is society again bowing to the 2% minority of dickheads who can't control themselves so lets change it and arrest the morons who muck it for the rest of us. 1
Portfolio
If you look at the big race days now, they mostly involve people getting pissed. 40 years ago you hardly saw anyone pissed, now if you do not see a couple of girls flaked out by race 5 it is a rare event.
