What Cranbourne Races
Where Cranbourne Turf Club – 50 Grant St, Cranbourne VIC 3977
When Friday, April 4, 2025
First Race 5:15pm AEDT

Visit Dabble

Cranbourne Turf Club is the destination for Friday night racing in Victoria, where a competitive eight-race meeting is set down for decision. The track was rated a Good 4 at the time of acceptances, but with showers forecast a Soft 5 or 6 track seems the likely rating for the program. The rail comes out 9m for the entire circuit, with the first race set to jump at 5:15pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Cranbourne: Dreams

The Mick Kent-trained Dreams has not been seen since destroying her rivals in maiden company at Moonee Valley on February 14. The three-year-old managed to find the rail from barrier seven on that night and led throughout, and the plan looks to be a similar one for this BM64 having drawn the same barrier. If Daniel Stackhouse doesn’t have to use up too many carrots early, Dreams will take some running down in the second leg of the quaddie.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Dreams Silks#3 Dreams (7)

3yo Filly | T: Michael Kent | J: Daniel Stackhouse (59.5kg)

Next Best at Cranbourne: Mrs Iglesia

Mrs Iglesia is set to return from a 20-week spell, and based on her recent Caulfield Heath trial win, she looks to have come back in good order. The Dirty Work filly was a hard watch on debut in Listed company when held up for a run for the entire home straight at Caulfield, then chased home the smart Hello Romeo at Bendigo before heading to the paddock. Daniel Stackhouse will look to use barrier two to his advantage and have Mrs Iglesia in a prominent role throughout.

Next Best

Race 2 – Mrs Iglesia Silks#10 Mrs Iglesia (2)

2yo Filly | T: Ben, Will & JD Hayes | J: Daniel Stackhouse (56kg)

Best Value at Cranbourne: Cardone

Cardone was an easy Sandown BM64 winner on March 5 over 1000m when resuming from a 23-week spell. The son of Written Tycoon enjoyed a perfect run in transit in behind the leaders, and when asked to quicken, he did so nicely and put the race away with ease. Tom Prebble will need a touch of luck from barrier 11 to find such a positive position, but with the right run in transit, Cardone has the finish under the bonnet to overhaul his rivals in this BM70 affair.

Best Value

Race 8 – Cardone Silks#7 Cardone (11)

5yo Gelding | T: Daniel Meagher | J: Tom Prebble (a1.5) (60kg)
