Test Score Passes Exam in Transylvania Stakes

In the first race of the Keeneland meet to stay on the grass after torrential rains throughout Kentucky, Amerman homebred Test Score (c, 3, Lookin At Lucky–Joy of Learning, by Kitten's Joy) captured Monday's rescheduled $600,000 GIII Transylvania Stakes presented by Keeneland Select and gave rider Manny Franco two consecutive black-type victories on the day after winning the Lafayette Stakes one race prior with 'TDN Rising Star' Colloquial (Vekoma). Franco and Test Score bided their time midpack in the Transylvania while three-straight winner Mi Bago (Vekoma) showed the way through :23.01 and :47.25 fractions, then joined the group that swarmed the pacesetter in the stretch. Test Score finished best of all with Scipio (Caravaggio) following him home and Maui Strong (Kitten's Joy) finishing third. The final time for the 1 1/16 miles was 1:43.84.

The Transylvania was the first black-type victory for Test Score, who was last seen finishing third in the Feb. 1 Kitten's Joy Stakes at Gulfstream.
