Windy conditions, especially during the back half of the morning, kept the bullets to a minimum as the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training under-tack show concluded with the last of seven sessions Saturday. Beating the elements as one of the first set to go shortly after 8 a.m, a filly by Ocala Stud's Win Win Win (hip 1206) consigned by Navas Equine was one of two juveniles to put up the morning's fastest furlong time in :9 4/5.

“In order to have a performance like this [filly], you have to really have ability,” said Jonathan Navas who founded Navas Equine as a pinhooking business in 2020.

Purchased for $60,000 out of Keeneland September last year, the Florida-bred filly already has a winning full-brother in Rammayy who was his sire's top-selling yearling when he brought $250,000 at KEESEP in 2023 and also ran third in this year's UAE Two Thousand Guineas Trial behind G3 Saudi Derby winner Golden Vekoma (Vekoma). First dam Just Like Lucy, also a winner, is a full-sister to MSW Pretty Perfection while the family also includes millionaire and GI Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup Stakes winner Sweet Talker (Stormin Fever) and MGSW Silver Medallion (Badge of Silver).

“She's been very lovely with us at the barn since we bought her at Keeneland,” Navas continued. “She's been nice to be around. And every week, every workout, she's been presenting herself well. She did prep pretty well [at the Ocala-based farm] and we were fortunate enough for her repeat and put up the performance that she did this morning.”

Joining Navas in his compliments of the filly was Sport of Kings Racing Manager Mohamed Moubarak.

“She's been absolutely fantastic on the dirt when she was breezing at home on the farm,” said Moubarak. “She was exactly the same way. She breezed good and galloped out super.”

The fastest worker of the 16-strong Navas Equine consignment, the Win Win Win filly was a stand out early.

“We had an idea, through the preparation [that she was the best],” Navas said. “What I like the most is that she's pretty easy. The rider [this morning] told me he didn't have to ask her so strongly. I'm just happy to have a filly with her talent and ability. I think she can go anywhere and compete anywhere in the world.”

Despite the wind, sunny skies and warm temperatures have brought buyers out to the OBS Sales grounds with Navas noting that action has been steady in the barns.

“People are coming around and doing their due diligence,” he said. “I'm getting a lot of good feedback and a lot of questions on social media. I think people are going to show up [next week.”

The second juvenile to put up the fastest time Saturday morning was a filly from the first crop of Independence Hall (hip 1142) consigned by Eddie Woods. Woods also consigned an Independence Hall colt during OBS March who brought seven figures from JPM Bloodstock after working in the same :9 4/5 time.

The fastest quarter-mile breeze of the day belonged to a colt by No Nay Never (hip 1053) from the Omar Ramirez Bloodstock consignment. A half to MGSP Fixette (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}), the colt failed to reach his reserve twice last year at both Keeneland September and the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Yearling Sale.

The Spring sale will be held next Tuesday through Friday with bidding beginning each day at 10:30 a.m.
