'TDN Rising Star' Admiral Dennis (c, 3, Constitution–Gulf Coast, by Union Rags), a last-out rallying fourth in the GI Blue Grass S. Apr. 8, sat much closer to the pace than usual and drew off in the stretch to win by four lengths at odds of 2-1 in Saturday's inaugural running of the Delaware Derby.

Barbadian Runner (Barbados) was second; Kentucky Outlaw (Outwork) was third.

The final time for 1 1/16 miles was 1:43.57.
