Graffard And Brant Celebrate Diane Success As Almanzor’s Gezora Strikes

Francis-Henri Graffard looked set to have the one-two-three in Sunday's G1 Prix de Diane Longines heading to the closing stages, but while ultimately that didn't transpire he was in the right place in the end with Gezora (Almanzor). Bringing off the Saint-Alary-Diane double in the process, White Birch Farm's 11-2 shot had first run on Ballydoyle's revitalised Bedtime Story (Frankel) under Christophe Soumillon and made that count with a length success with Cankoura (Persian King) and Mandanaba (Ghaiyyath) in third and fourth for the winning stable. “She's a wonderful filly who tries so hard and has a great attitude,” Peter Brant said of the daughter of the 2006 Diane runner-up Germance. “This is one of most important races in the world and I'm very proud and happy to win it.”
