Derby Season

Half way through the year, and all the Big 3 yearolds will be aiming up for Derby glory the next 6 months through Australia and NZ.

The great Northern Derby already been run and won by star horse Marketplace .

The NSW Derby went off as well , to a budding star as well in the Emma Stewart trained undefeated 'Always Hot' earlier in the year.

Saturday night sees RUBIRA for Mark Purdon and New Zealand take on the best of our locals in the Redcliffe Derby.

Rubira has won all 4 of his races starts this year so far as 3 year old. Looks a Great chance in the QLD Derby Group 1 next month. (won last year by the NZer Major Hot) 

I said gid'day to old Marky Boy 6 or 7 years ago when he turned up in Brissie with a 3 yearold and promptly won 4 out of 4 races in QLD , inc 3 Derbies. The horse becoming a Millionaire ( 2 and half million 💰won)  later on and finishing with 30 wins from 74 starts Including the NZ Cup. Super horse SELF ASSURED . 

Maybe Rubira can follow in his footsteps ?? he's off to a bright start in his career. 

Here's the Field for the GROUP 3 Redcliffe DERBY this Saturday night.  RUBIRA showing just $1.80 to win this .

2 of the fast Seymour Dixon runners placed in the NSW Derby behind the Emma Stewart trained winner = Path To Greatness and Fate Awaits look hard to beat.

 

Looks Like Multi Millionaires Mike Tanev ( It's Electrifying ) and Danny Zavitsanos ( Demon Blue ) have spent big bucks to try and buy another winner from NZ . think they're in for a bit of disappointment in this field . and Danny put Demon Blue with Dixon ? really ? a silly move as No way will he be beating Seymours colts with it lol 😂😉

well Derby night about to go at Redcliffe .

Not far off at all the BIG 4k win last night (about a length) at the Friday night Lightss thread with 5-6 kiwi winners and a half head 2nd,  and a 4th from the Multi.

Let's grab one tonight then with a few kiwi breds tonight. 💰💰

Race 3 Redcliffe   PANDAIA  $6.00   Menangle horse too quick for these? won Addington last year.

Race 4/  TAyLAD To USE  $3.00  recent NI arrival . sure to close in this Redcliffe Trotters Cup.

Race 5/  CAPTAINS MISTRESS $4.20    to be driven by Nathan Williamson Redcliffe Oaks. you know her well. see if Nathan can handle the Triangle shaped track though ?? 😂👍 

Race 6/  RUBIRA   $2.00    Purdon super horse . drawn 1 . wins from here to the post office. 

Race 7/  OUR Vincent Van Gogh   $2.00   NZ horse with champ Luke McCarthy now. Wins  

 

Race 8/  SIX NZ bred horses in the Big Feature G2  Redcliffe Cup. 'ARODA' (NZ bred)  ran in a NZ Cup so must be alright ?  but a few chances here. Maybe 'Petes Said So' old kiwi from NSW a good chance too. 

 

Lets just take the a PICK 5 ,   as the Redcliffe Cup seems pretty tough to win.

Great wins tonight for new Zealand . RUBIRA wins the Redcliffe Derby in a Fantastic display , beating our Best 3 yearold  'Fate Awaits' of Dixons to the line, no worries at all. 

and in a bonus CAPTAINS MISTRESS with Nathan Williamson , not worrying about the obtuse angles of triangle racing just goes 3 Wide the whole Last LAP to take Geometry right out of the equation  😂 . an amazing Oaks win,

and she wins easy  , from the 2 Dixon Fillies. Mr 'Swayzee' Boots will be smiling like Gamma , with that win  

10-1 for the kiwi Double !!   money for Jam boys. You can't help but win on these fantastic horsemen and horses.

It was fantastic to see the 2 sets of famous New Zealand colours Winning at Redcliffe again after all the years.  

Think South East Derby will be the next One for RUBIRA . get ready for more Wins! 💰💰🍗🍗🏆🏆

The $150k Queensland Derby is up next.  It's Grand Final night in Brisbane.

RUBIRA of Mark and Nathan Purdon's drawn the outside barrier so is going to have to be driven well.

The Queensland Oaks just raced and Grant Dixon and Nathan Williamson tried to work togeather to run the Quinella , taking the lead with Cool and Classy and the NZer  sitting parked.

CAPTAIN"S MISTRESS would probably of won it for New Zealand,  if Grant gave it the lead over that longer trip. Just a bit tough on her sitting parked after working hard around the field from a second row draw at the start. 

Instead , Australia's Best horseman LUKE McCarthy out-drove them and roared up the passing lane to take Victory with SOHO AMericano for Michael Stanley.

Great drive by Sanderson 🏆. RUBIRA Rated perfectly. to win well like that,  when you have Luke McCarthy parked  on your back.

The Grand Master  of the harness world Marky Boy (and helper son) WIN the Queensland Derby for New Zealand.

Best Queensland horse FATE AWAITS a distant 3rd.

Look out 'Marketplace' in November and December. !! 

RUBIRA might just blast his socks off in the Velocity Slot $1/2 mill then the NZ Derby . 

someone better tell Regan Todd to start jogging him up now 🤣. none of this hiding out for the Winter if he wants to Win those Big races in the Spring. or Mark will be back and come on over the top of him.
