Last out winner of the GIII Miss Preakness Stakes, ECHO SOUND (f, 3, Echo Town–Eagle Sound, by Fusaichi Pegasus) kept her nearly perfect record in tact with a facile win over a short field in Thursday's GIII Victory Ride Stakes. Always prominent just outside pacesetter Hollygrove (Complexity), the 3-2 favorite switched it on when cued at the top of the lane past fast fractions of :20.83 and :44.85. Only Beauty Reigns (Into Mischief) was doing any running late as the four-strong field came in spaced out behind a geared-down winner. The final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:15.49. Lifetime Record: 6-5-1-0.
