Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted Saturday at 08:20 PM Journalists Posted Saturday at 08:20 PM All eyes were on the debuting $1.3-million OBS April graduate Stradale (Yaupon), but it was another son of Yaupon who stole the show at the Spa Saturday afternoon. Emphasis (Yaupon), off at debut odds of 5-1, was quickest of all in the early stages while the heavily favored Stradale was checked sharply and trailed the field of eight. Emphasis raced under pressure through an opening quarter in :22.87, held a narrow advantage heading to the quarter pole and kept finding in the stretch to hold the unlucky Growth Equity (Nyquist) safe by a length. Stradale ran very well to finish third after his early trouble. Emphasis becomes the seventh winner for his freshman sire (by Uncle Mo). The final time for six furlongs was 1:11.83.
