Thomass
All-Star Mile: Organisers explain glitch in voting system 9 hours ago by Luke Sheehan All-Star Mile organisers have sought to clarify the voting system for the new race after punters were left scratching their heads over the confusing vote tallies in the first 24 hours of voting. An estimated 28,000-plus votes have already been tallied so far for the inaugural $5 million feature, as fans and owners seek to secure one of the 10 'public vote' spots up for grabs in the race, which will be held at Flemington on March 16. However, it emerged that the All-Star Mile website was throwing up different figures for different people, a quirk the organisers are attempting to iron out. But as they have explained, the higher amount that shows - see the below images - is the correct tally. Thomass
You gotta laugh at the audacity of some owners bribes All-Star gets free burger treatment Andrew Eddy@fastisheddy 23 January, 2019 , ( It is one of the oldest and most trusted marketing ploys and it only took until the third day of voting for March's The All-Star Mile for attention to be turned from potential voters' pockets to their stomachs. The All-Mile voters are vying for a sizeable stake by voting to make up the majority of the field in the $5 million race, but for those voters in Victoria that want to pin their hopes on handy galloper Man Of His Word, a free hamburger was their reward on Wednesday. Sam Lyons, the racing manager of Grand Syndicates, posted the promise on Twitter: "Want a free feed in Melb today?" "Get into Charlie & Co Burgers for a free cheeseburger just for voting for Man Of His Word in the All Star Mile!" Even before the burger offer, six-time winner Man Of His Word was performing well in early voting with the six-year-old sitting fifth of 130 with 1532 votes to noon on Wednesday. The top 10 vote earners are given automatic entry to contest the March 16 race with Racing Victoria to select four other 'wildcard' entries to create a field of 14. The All-Star Mile voting (as at noon, Wednesday, January 23) 1. Urban Ruler - 4206 2. The Autumn Sun - 2999 3. Grunt - 1567 4. Extra Brut - 1565 5. Man Of His Word - 1532 6. Amphitrite - 1528 7.
