Pakenham’s all‑weather track hosts an eight‑race card on Monday, August 18, 2025. The first event jumps at 1:00pm AEST, while the last is set for 4:30pm AEST. Showers are forecast, but the all‑weather should ensure fair footing throughout.

Best Bet at Pakenham: Super Solar

Super Solar is absolutely airborne and looks superbly placed to go on with it. He was a dominant winner over this track/trip last start back and can continue his impressive form this campaign. Back on the Pakenham poly, an inside alley should let Nadia Daniels land behind the speed and peel into the race on the bend. He owns the best recent figures in the race, thrives on the synthetic, and meets several rivals he’s already had the wood on this prep. If he turns up within a length of his July 28 peak, he’s the one they have to beat.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Super Solar Silks#1 Super Solar (3)

6yo Gelding | T: Reece Goodwin | J: Nadia Daniels (a3) (63kg)

Next Best at Pakenham: Il Cubo

Il Cubo strikes a winnable BM70 after a strong second on the Ballarat Synthetic on August 7, and his previous July 1 synthetic win reads perfectly for this. He draws to stalk the pace from barrier six, and Jake Noonan knows exactly when to press the button with this Rubick gelding. He’s two-for-two in the quinella on the poly and has the tactical speed to avoid traffic in a smallish field. The Goodwin yard is flying on synthetics, and a return to his favourite surface is a significant positive. If the rail is good early, he maps to get every possible and should prove very hard to hold out.

Next Best

Race 1 – Il Cubo Silks#2 Il Cubo (6)

5yo Gelding | T: Reece Goodwin | J: Jake Noonan (59kg)

Best Value at Pakenham: Perfetto

Perfetto is screaming out for this trip and looks over the odds with horse racing bookmakers second-up to 2200m. He stuck on terrifically for a narrow second at Sale last time and now returns to the synthetic, where he’s one-for-one. The wide draw isn’t ideal, but Jett Stanley can slide across and land midfield with cover in a race lacking obvious tempo. His staying platform is better than most of these BM64 rivals, and Busuttin & Young have an excellent record when they target these Pakenham staying assignments.

Best Value

Race 7 – Perfetto Silks#2 Perfetto (11)

6yo Gelding | T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young | J: Jett Stanley (59kg)
