Here are the horses of interest for this weekend running at Chukyo, Kyoto and Tokyo Racecourses: Saturday, January 26, 20194th-KYO, ¥11,400,000 ($104k), Newcomers, 3yo, 1200mR MARTINI (f, 3, Majesticperfection–Don’t Trick Her, by Mazel Trick), bought back on a bid of $250K at Keeneland September in 2017, is one of seven winners from as many to race for her dam, including GISWs Include Me Out (Include) and Check the Label (Stormin Fever) amd SW On the Menu (Canadian Frontier). Don’t Trick Her is a half-sister to MSW & MGSP Tiffany Diamond (Tiffany Ice) and to the dam of the Jones-bred 2014 GI La Brea S. winner Sam’s Sister (Brother Derek) and SP Sensitive (Divine Park). The female family also includes GISW Sweet Talker (Stormin Fever) and MGSW Silver Medallion (Badge of Silver). B-Brereton C Jones (KY) 10th-CKO, ¥19,000,000 ($173k), Allowance, 3yo, 1400m MOZU EROICO (c, 3, Declaration of War–Wicked Temper, by Tapit) finished sixth in a pair of starts on the turf to begin his career last October, but came to life in his most recent appearance to break his maiden in a 1200m dirt test at Kyoto Nov. 11 (see below, gate 11). Produced by a daughter of GSW Sayedah (Ire) (Darshaan {GB}), already the dam of MGSP Battle of Marathon (War Front), Mozu Eroico was a $130K graduate of the Fasig-Tipton Turf Showcase in 2017 after being purchased in utero for $160K at KEENOV in 2015. B-Don Alberto Corporation (KY) Sunday, January 27, 20193rd-TOK, ¥11,400,000 ($104k), Newcomers, 3yo, 1600m CAFE CROWN (c, 3, Mineshaft) is a son of the talented racemare Two Trail Sioux (Indian Charlie), co-owned by John D. Gunther when trained by the late Wally Dollase to a victory in the 2005 GII Fleur de Lis H. and a third placing in the GI Personal Ensign S. A half-brother to SP Cheyenne Pass (Smart Strike), Cafe Crown was hammered down to Emmanuel de Seroux’s Narvick International for $300K at OBS April in 2018 after breezing a quarter-mile in :20 3/5. B-Jason Litt, Litt Family Horse Trust & Alex Solis II (KY) 9th-CKO, ¥14,250,000 ($130k), Allowance, 4yo/up, 1400m RAMP FEVER (f, 4, Ghostzapper–Gold Vault, by Arch) was well beaten in a single turf starts last season, but improved dramatically on the dirt and was last seen breaking her maiden at the minimum trip at Hakodate July 8 (video, gate 10). An $800K OBSMAR breezer, Ramp Fever is a full-sister to GISW Contested, dam of Japanese GSW & G1SP Gibeon (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}), and a half to SW & GSP Mosler (War Front) and GSP Air Vice Marshal (War Front).
