Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 29 Journalists Posted August 29 Sharing Is Caring, who would later finish third in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal on Friday, topped the ThoroughBid August Sale at £28,000. Sold to Lewis Jones, the 4-year-old was a recent point-to-point winner and will remain in training with Shark Hanlon. Hanlon said, “It's all happened very quickly. The catalogue went live a week ago, he was sold this afternoon and now runs at Down Royal this evening. ThoroughBid is very quick and efficient, and they promoted the horse fantastically during the week across their marketing and media platforms. What the owner is planning further down the line, I don't know yet, but we're all looking forward to this evening.” Blue Point's This Guy sold to Daniel Murphy for £20,000. He was consigned by Beechdown Farm Stables. Out of the listed-placed Baheeja (Dubawi), the colt is a half-brother to stakes winners Jabaara (Exceed And Excel) and Tajanis (Australia), with the former second in the G1 Falmouth Stakes. Of the 30 lots offered, 17 sold (57%) for a gross of £98,800. The average was £5,811 and the median was £3,000. James Richardson, CEO of ThoroughBid, said, “It was a busy session of bidding today, with plenty of interest in Shark Hanlon's Sharing Is Caring, who sold well at £28,000. “Having a nice Flat horse from Clive Cox's stable sell for £20,000 to race in Ireland is a good example of how we can facilitate effective sales for both consigner and purchaser, while we're pleased to once again have the likes of Gordon Elliott and Henry de Bromhead using the platform with plenty of success.” The post Sharing Is Caring Tops ThoroughBid August Sale appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
