Named a 'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard' at Churchill Downs for his May 23 turf debut, OUTFIELDER (c, 2, Speightstown–Notte d'Oro, by Medaglia d'Oro) returned to Keeneland a winner Saturday on the main track for the first time having last been spotted in France finishing fourth in the G1 Prix Morny Stakes Aug. 24. Positioned wide and on the pace from the jump, the 3-5 favorite had to get by a determined run from Oscar's Hope (Twirling Candy) down the stretch but ultimately prevailed by a clear margin under John Velazquez. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-0.
