Popular harness racing platform Harnesslink will continue, under new ownership.

It has been saved by major Australian owner Mick Harvey after earlier concerns that it would close, with the loss of half a dozen jobs, if a new owner wasn’t found by last Friday.

The Sydney-based businessman has stepped in to buy the website as Kiwi founder and long-time owner John Curtin looks to step away from the day to day business.

“Harnesslink has been a trusted source of global harness racing coverage for more than two decades,” says Harvey.

“What John Curtin has built over the past 23 years is truly remarkable — a platform that gives the harness racing industry an independent voice, connects participants across continents, and celebrates the sport at every level.

“I want to sincerely thank John for his dedication and the foundation he has created.

“My goal is simple: to continue and strengthen Harnesslink’s role as a voice for the harness racing community worldwide.

“Harness racing has always been about community, hard work, and a deep love of horses. I’m proud to be part of that story and look forward to supporting the industry’s future through Harnesslink.”
