Thanks to a partnership between Xpressbet and Media System Technologies, a leading B2B operator of technological solutions for the Italian racing industry, Americans can now wake up to watching and betting on Italian racing.

Live images from both thoroughbred and trotting races held at 15 Italian racecourses, including top racecourses like Roma, Pisa, Merano, Napoli and Siracusa, will be available on the feed, along with an integrated, comprehensive data stream for betting products. The betting pools will be commingled worldwide.

The current Italian thoroughbred racing season is centered around Rome's Capannelle racetrack, which will stage its two main fixtures on Sunday, October 26 (featuring five Listed stakes) and Sunday, November 2 on Roma Champions Day with four Group races, including the G2 Lydia Tesio for fillies and mares aged three and up over 2,000 meters with a purse of 264,000 euros.
October 26 will also be opening day of the winter-spring meeting at the Pisa San Rossore, a racecourse nestled within a nature park that played a key role in launching the legend of Ribot.
Ippodromo Mediterraneo in Siracusa, Sicily, which hosted last year's World Agricultural G7 meeting, will run a winter meeting.

In December, the city of Napoli will launch its winter Thoroughbred meeting in the Ippodomo Agnano, set in the very picturesque valley where the ancient Romans constructed a large, multi-level thermal complex on the slopes of Mt. Spina.

MST supplies its betting platforms to a network of 2,000 retail outlets and 30 websites.

“The U.S. horse racing betting market is definitely the leader in the world,” said Giuseppe Tarricone, the CEO of MST. “At MST, we always looked with extreme interest to the U.S. market and now we are very proud and very excited that we can offer to U.S. horse racing betting fans our races from the top Italian racetracks. Thanks to the very professional and dedicated work of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture Directors Patrizio La Pietra and Remo Chiodi, appointed by the new Italian Government, horse racing in Italy is enjoying a new Renaissance.”

Tarricone pointed out that prominent American owner Mike Repole had recently sent four horses to Italy, including a Dubawi filly purchased at Arqana. “Purses are paid regularly and much faster and in 2026 will increase by 8-10 million euros,” he said. “The doping control is very strict and the races are competitive and appealing to the point that the betting has increased steadily in the past three months. With our agreement with Xpressbet, we'll be able to offer to the American horse racing fans the opportunity to wake up in the morning and with breakfast enjoy a few bets in the historical racetrack where Federico Tesio, Nearco and Ribot created the history of thoroughbred racing.”
