He had to settle for second last year but the 2025 GI Cygames Breeders' Cup Sprint belonged solely to BENTORNATO (r, 4, Valiant Minister–Her Special Way, by Put It Back). In the top flight of speedsters from the gate, the 8-5 favorite came through to lead heading into the far turn ahead of last year's winner Straight No Chaser (Speightster) and Japan's American Stage (Into Mischief) and burst clear at the top of the stretch.

Imagination (Into Mischief) and Dr. Venkman (Ghostzapper) put in solid runs late but were several lengths back on the wire.

Michael and Julia Iavarone went to $1,000,000 to pick up a 25% ownership interest in Bentornato just three days at the Keeneland Championship Sale at Del Mar Oct. 29.

O-Leon King Stable Corp. or Michael and Julia Iavarone; B-Tanma Corp (FL); T-Jose D'Angelo. Sales History: $45,000 ylg '22 OBSOCT, $170,000 2yo '23 OBSMAR, $1,000,000 25% ownership interest '25 KEECHA.
