Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted 9 hours ago Journalists Posted 9 hours ago Taller ladies need not apply for a date with Havana Grey in 2026 as Whitsbury Manor Stud has confirmed that the star stallion will continue to cover mares with a height restriction in place for next year. His fee remains private while Showcasing has been dropped by £5,000 to £30,000 and newbie Elite Status introduced at £8,000. Dragon Symbol and Sergei Prokofiev will operate at that same fee. Joe Callan, Head of Bloodstock and Sales at Whitsbury, commented, “Havana Grey will once again have his fee listed as private. This reflects the importance of carefully managing his book to mares 16.0hh or under — a strategy that proved highly effective last season, resulting in an impressive 90% fertility rate — benefitting both the stallion and our clients. “He has enjoyed another outstanding season on the track, siring 15 individual black-type two-year-olds — more than any other stallion standing worldwide — equating to an astounding near 25% black-type two-year-olds to runners. A truly remarkable achievement, especially considering they were conceived from his final £6,000 crop.” Callan added, “Showcasing will stand at £30,000. He now boasts 149 lifetime Stakes performers and added a second Group 1 Sussex Stakes winner to his record this year. His influence continues to grow as a broodmare sire, highlighted by Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Lake Victoria and Group 1 Nunthorpe runner-up Aint Nobody. Showcasing's yearlings in 2025 have sold for up to 240,000gns. “Elite Status joins the roster for 2026 and will stand his first season at £8,000. A Group winner at both two and three, who was rated superior to both his sire and grandsire. Purchased by Karl & Kelly Burke for 325,000 gns as a yearling, he remains Havana Grey's highest-rated performer with an impressive RPR of 119. “Dragon Symbol will remain at £8,000 after covering full books of over 140 mares in both 2024 and 2025. His first foals head to the sales in the coming weeks and are keenly anticipated. Sergei Prokofiev, who looks set to be crowned Leading Second-Season Sire, will also stand at £8,000 following another excellent year headed by Group 1 winner Arizona Blaze and Harry's Half Million hero Song Of The Clyde.” The post Whitsbury To Keep Height Restriction For Havana Grey In 2026 – Fee Still Private appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
