Right to Party (Constitution), third beaten 9 lengths going six furlongs in his debut Dec. 13, went two better Saturday to break his maiden second time out. Relegated to the back after a bumpy beginning, the 5-2 second choice trailed the field up the long backstretch run in his first stretch out to the mile distance. Saving ground around the far turn and picking up momentum and positions, Right to Party hit the top of the lane and tipped out to close past late leader Dr. Sinatra (Speightstown), rallying to score by 1 1/2 lengths. A $325,000 Keeneland September Yearling grad for Chester Broman, Right to Party is out of a half-sister to the dam of Canadian Horse of the Year and $2,000,000 Fasig-Tipton November broodmare Wonder Gadot (Medaglia d'Oro) and GISW Hard Not to Love (Hard Spun), herself a $3,200,000 purchase from the same Fasig-Tipton sale in 2021. Yet another of Havin' A Party's half-sisters is the dam of GI Beholder Mile winner Secret Spice (Discreet Cat). Right to Party has a now yearling Elite Power half-brother who brought $150,000 at Keeneland November last year while Havin' A Party is due to Arabian Knight this year.
