Multiple group winner Lastotchka (Myboycharlie) topped the Tattersalls Online January Sale at 60,000gns when selling to Capucines Bloodstock.

Sold as lot 59 from Ronald Rauscher's consignment, the seven-year-old mare is a winner of the G3 Prix Gladiateur and G3 Prix Belle de Nuit.

Jean-Daniel Manceau of Capucines Bloodstock said, “She has been purchased by Capucines Bloodstock in a new partnership including a few regular breeders from Haras des Capucines. We really liked this mare's profile and we had the chance to inspect her before bidding. She is a nice, well-made filly with a really good walk. She was consistent on the turf and a multiple Group winner so it was a great opportunity. We think she was really good value at this price and we were delighted to buy her.”

Leading the broodmares on offer was 50,000gns purchase Hotaugustnight (Camelot) (lot 83) in foal to Pinatubo. Sold to Kong Bloodstock, the six-year-old mare is a sister to the stakes-placed Deira Mile (Camelot), fourth in the G1 Epsom Derby. The Glanvilles Stud-consigned daughter of the multiple stakes-placed Fastnet Mist (Fastnet Rock) is also related to Derby runner-up Ambiente Friendly (Gleneagles).

Equaling the price of Hotaugustnight was lot 42, Charlus (Churchill), who was sold to D P O'Dwyer Bloodstock. Part of the Closutton Stables draft, the stakes-placed five-year-old gelding has three wins on the Flat and a hurdle win to his name so far.

“Charlus was purchased for an existing group of owners and hopefully he can contest at Cheltenham or Aintree this year,” said O'Dwyer. “They could put him away and try him over fences next year but there will also be options for him on the Flat. He is going to give this syndicate a lot of fun and a few days out. He was sourced from a good yard and goes to another good yard in Dan Skelton's.”

A breeding right in Space Blues (lot 102) brought 32,000gns from Hurworth Bloodstock. The stallion is already a Group 1 sire after the victory of Power Blue in the Phoenix Stakes.

Of the 96 lots offered, 53 sold (55%) for a gross of 438,200gns. The average was 8,268gns and the median was 2,600gns.
