Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted January 31 Journalists Posted January 31 'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard' ON TIME GIRL (f, 3, Not This Time–Girl Daddy, by Uncle Mo) back up her even-money odds and came home a strong winner to capture the GIII Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream Park Saturday. The win was good for 20 points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks. Quick from the gate but outfooted by a host of pursuers on both sides, the favorite raced sandwiched between Imperatrice (City of Light) and Mythical (St. Patrick's Day). That trio stayed in tact through the opening quarter in :22.96 before On Time Girl got squeezed out of the middle and fell back to fifth passing the quarter pole. As Mythical began to fade from the front on the rail, Irad Ortiz Jr. opted to swing On Time Girl outside and found a clear running lane as Imperatrice ran on inside the final furlong. But well into gear now close to home, the favorite kicked on for an open-lengths win as Imperatrice just lasted for second ahead of closing 'Rising Star' Sneaky Good (Into Mischief).
