Harness Racing New Zealand (HRNZ) has issued a reminder to all trainers about Strangles, a highly contagious bacterial disease affecting horses. HRNZ is advising vigilance, outlining the key signs to watch for, such as fever, nasal discharge, swelling and abscesses and emphasising steps to manage and prevent spread through good biosecurity and prompt action with your veterinarian.
