Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted 2 hours ago Journalists Posted 2 hours ago Darby Dan Farm's Blazing Sevens (Good Magic-Trophy Girl, Warrior's Reward), winner of the GI Champagne Stakes, is represented by his first reported foals, including a filly out of the Adios Charlie mare Rye Lane born on Feb. 9 and a colt born on Feb. 11 out of the Ribchester (Ire) mare Championofmyheart (Ire). The filly, who was bred by Frankfort Park Farm, is out of a full sister to Grade I winner and millionaire Patternrecognition, stakes winner Lovesick, and a half-sister to stakes winner Florida Fuego (Kantharos). The filly also hails from the female family of Grade I winners Rigoletta and Battle of Midway. “She's a lovely filly with a great shape and outlook,” said Kara McDermott, manager Frankfort Park Farm, where the filly was foaled. “We're delighted with her.” The colt, who was bred by Healthy Wood Co. Ltd. and born at Darby Dan Farm, descends from the family of Lethal Force (Ire), Champion Older Sprinter in Europe. “This Blazing Sevens colt is a very good first foal for Championofmyheart,” noted Darby Dan Farm's Charlie McKinlay. “He has all the right angles. The colt is a great result for our Japanese clients.” Named a 'TDN Rising Star' as a 2-year-old after a debut victory at Saratoga, Blazing Sevens won the Champagne for owner Rodeo Creek Racing and trainer Chad Brown in just his third start. He made a sweeping move on the far turn and won by 3 1/4 lengths after overcoming a troubled start. At three in the second leg of the Triple Crown, Blazing Sevens was beaten just a head by multiple GISW National Treasure (Quality Road) in the GI Preakness Stakes at Pimlico. Blazing Sevens is out of the winning Warrior's Reward mare Trophy Girl, a half-sister to Grade I winner King David. Bred in Kentucky by Tracy Farmer, Blazing Sevens was a $225,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Sale purchase.
