Not off to the greatest of beginnings, he was ridden from his outside draw to press the early leaders from third through an opening quarter in :22.34. He ranged up three deep at the quarter pole and took over in the stretch to win going away by 2 1/2 lengths over favored Quentin B (Promises Fulfilled). The winning mare Bernadreamy, just a $40,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase by Rigney Racing, produced a Nyquist filly this year.
