BOAY Miracle and Derby Slot race

Everyone loves a good Slot race , and with some great racing Saturday night with the Derby Heats and Miracle Mile Quaifiiers on at Menangle 

we have 5 Slots up for grabs for a BOAY slot race winner.  Races 1-7 . Trying to support the majority of these great runners 

 

SLOT 1/   The Grim Slot.   The  Jason Grimson trained runners in the first 7 races Menangle culminating with Captain's Mistress in the Chariots of Fire.

SLOT 2/  The McCarthy Slot ..  Australia's leading horseman with 8 runners training or driving in the slot events

SLOT 3/  The NZ bred NZ Winners Slot ..  These great horses ALL won a race in NZ at some stage of their career.  Can they win Menangle too?

SLOT 4/  The Queensland trained Sunshine State Slot...  The runners trained in QLD in first 7 races at Menangle. 

SLOT 5/  The LAST Start Winners Roughie Slot.  All these horses won their last starts and are a good chance again to cause some upsets.

 

Horse names running in each BOAY Slot will be up shortly in the next post . They will score points from finishing position in their races.

A great night of Harness action about to go after all that great action at Ellerslie and Randwick. 

The lights are on At Menangle . not sure with New Zealand ?? 😉 most have left and might switch them off. 

and slots are drawn. 

SLOT 1 / BLACKIE going for the speedy on course trainer Jason Grimson . to win more than Just the Chariots of Fire.

SLOT 2 / CHIEF the best man of the BOA pack is in with the LUKE MCCarthy Slot. Luke being the OZ Best harness man

SLOT 3 / The NEW ZEALANDER slot . to THE GALAH to cheer on the great kiwi horses racing tonight , that have all won in NZ , and are shining the light for the world to see.

SLOT 4 /  GAMMA goes into battle with an undermanned Queensland squad , but there's some nice ones running.

SLOT 5 / BRODIE can get on the money , when his team of Last start Winners , tries to Double Down with another victory tonight.

TIPS/ i'm tipping Brodie to surprise the BIG players with a Win tonight , for the SLOT 5 power horses. 

I'll score a points system ( for where your horse places ) and a DIvvie System as well. Because you blokes like a punt

Race 1 hits the line and old NZer KINGMAKER , a winner way back in 2019 at Ashburton and Invercargill in 1.59

takes a Menangle win in 1.49 quite a few years later. 

Michael Stanley is a fantastic trainer . He has a few Derby runners having a go soon including FUGITIVE from NZ.

 

The Galah picks up 10 points for the New Zealand Slot.  and $34 in the divvie comp. to lead both systems after R1.

Blackie in 2nd with the Grimson NARANO gets 8 points ,  and $15

Brodie in 4th and 5th with Captain Bellasario (4) and I Break The Line  (2)  is on 6 points from those two runners.

Chief also on the Luke McCarthy trained CAPTAIN BELLASARIO  is on 4 points

SHOWmeTHEtanLINES and expensive NZ purchase with an awful name gets the money in the first NSW Derby heat.

The Galah takes the NZ points and Blackie takes the Grimson Grim points with the same horse.

Soho Trump for Michael Stanley and the Brodster gets 6 points in 3rd and a tiny $12

Its Michael Stanley again. and the bugger pips the QLDer of Dixon's by a nose at the line and takes my multi's with it 🙄 .  SOHO CHARMER by a nose from FIRE and PASSION the QLDer in Heat 2 of NSW Derby. 

Anyway its 8 points to Gamma for 2nd and $12.

and Brodie in 3rd with last start winner YOTTIE  so picks up 6 points and $19 in the divvie comp.

Heat 3 of the Derby and the New Zealand and Grimson teams Strike again.

Paul Borg probably paid a fortune for ZEUS LIGHTNING after his good Sires Stakes 5th at Addington last November. 

A very nice horse winning by lengths for Grimson , driver Cam Hart and BOAY slotties Galah and Blackie.

The 2 x Michael Stanley runners were 3rd and 4th. FUGITIVE just sort of a battling 4th. Will be touch and go if he qualifies for next weeks BIG Derby Final. 

The Galah picking up 14 points in that one with ZEUS and FUGITIVE doing the NZ horses proud.  +$25 collect

Blackie in with 10 as well (+$25) , and Gamma got just 2pts  with the Queenslander fading to 5th for McMullen.

Whatta performance that was. 🏆 Leap To Fame parking up .Against those fast horses . and still winning in 1.48.

Race 5 A Miracle Mile Qualifier sees the mighty Queenslander through to another crack at the Biggest race next Sat. 

Same Quinella as the SLOT race at Cambridge 2025 too. with CHase a Dream closing late for neck 2nd  doing NZ proud once again. Nearly the same Trifecta but DON HUGO got 3rd tonight ( after 4th at Cambridge) 

14 points for Gamma in the BOAY slot race with 1st and 4th. SPEAK THE TRUTH closing very well lately on is a SUPER horse too. Just never has a good driver.   $29 for Larry earnings tonight. 

The New Zealand Slot rocks on with CHASE A DREAM scoring 8 points for the Galah and $24  

Team SLOT 1/  GRIMSON missed with Hi MaNameisJeff but score points with Chase A Dream for Blackie. also $24.

and Chief in 3rd with the 'DON' 6 points and $12 for team Slot McCarthy.

The JANITOR. well he cleans them Up !! go the mighty Queenslander. in the second last comp race just finished. 

Pete McMullen 'sweeps' and swoops down the outside to spoil the Grimson Swayzee party . 

Swayzee pretty game in that for Blackie sitting parked out and toughing it well. 

Pinseeker nowhere for NZ , but RAKERO ROCKET does hold 3rd that is 6 points for the Galah. (+$13) 

with Swayzee and Rakero Rocket getting places Blackie and the GRIM SLOT 1/ collect 14 points and $35

Gamma lapping up a 10 pointer in that race,  for the Queensland BOAY Slot and a cool $73 . 💪💰

The Final Race . Chariots of Fire.

Captains Mistress the half sister of Merlin is just too good. A easy win for Grimson and driver Hart. (and Blackie)

The Galah and Blackie pick up 10 points each to finish the night and $21 .

Sanderson gets the fine Queenland horse FINAL DEADLINE hone 2nd and scores $24 .

HESITATE was 4th for Brodie, Chief and McCarthy.  5th for Brodie with Double Lou too, completely boxed in. (2pts)

FINAL POINTS

Blackie  60 Points,  The Galah  58 points ,  Gamma 42 points ,   Brodie  24 points , Chief  14 points,

Blackie Squeaks out a very GRIM Win , by a very shallow margin from Slot/ NEW ZEALANDers and Slot QLDers. 

Blackie getting a bit lucky 😉 with Fire and Passion beaten a nose right on the line costing me the Quaddie and the Dollars earned comp for the Queenslanders , all in one go . rats . 🙄😎

Great to see the Amazing Queensland and NZ horses putting up so many Sub 1.50 times tonight in impressive style. 

Will be interesting to see if Grimson game enough to take on The JANITOR and LTF and the Don Hugo with his good mare Captains Mistress ?  , after her fine win tonight.
