Last seen running second in the G1 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot and pulling up with an injury last June, the three-time Group 1 winner was pointing for the G2 Dubai Gold Cup on Dubai World Cup night, a race he has won the past three seasons. “Vazirabad will not go to Dubai,” trainer Alain de Royer Dupre told Jour de Galop of the 7-year-old gelding. “He will not be ready to go straight into a Group 2, especially since he has not run since the month of July.
