Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 7, 2019 Journalists Share Posted March 7, 2019 Ninety-six 3-year-olds remain engaged in the June 1 G1 Investec Derby following the latest declaration stage. The 4-1 favourite Too Darn Hot (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) is one of 16 left in for two-time Derby-winning trainer John Gosden, and is joined from Clarehaven by maiden winners Baltic Song (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), Dubai Warrior (GB) (Dansili {GB}), Humanitarian (Noble Mission {GB}) and Questionare (GB) (Galileo {Ire}). The ever-powerful Ballydoyle has 25 entries, headed by the current 14-1 second favourite Anthony Van Dyck (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and third choice Japan (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) at 16-1. Godolphin won last year’s Derby with Masar (GB) (New Approach {Ire}), and while Sheikh Mohammed’s stable has four of the current top 11 in the betting, none of those are yet nominated to the Derby. Godolphin has just two nominated 3-year-olds at this point, and both are unraced. Prominent in the betting for Godolphin are Quorto (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) at 16-1; and Royal Marine (Ire) (Raven’s Pass), Beyond Reason (Ire) (Australia {GB}) and Line of Duty (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) at 33-1.
