France Galop President Edouard de Rothschild announced that the Easter Sunday headliner at Auteuil, the Prix du President de la Republique-the country’s biggest handicap chase-would be renamed the Prix de Notre Dame de Paris for the day, and all betting proceeds would go to the national fund to rebuild the cathedral. Ten-time champion jockey Christophe Soumillon, who is riding at Newmarket’s Craven meeting this week, announced on Twitter that he has pledged all his winnings for the week to the fund.
