Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 10, 2019 Journalists Share Posted May 10, 2019 G1 Prix Morny winner Pretty Pollyanna (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) is set to make her seasonal debut in the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas on May 26. The Bill and Tim Gredley colourbearer was one of the leading fancies for Newmarket’s 1000 Guineas before being withdrawn after failing to please connections in a key piece of work. Trainer Michael Bell has said, however, that whatever was ailing her is now behind her. “I think things are really on track now,” the trainer said. “We’re very much hoping she’ll be all singing and all dancing for the Irish Guineas. We’re very positive.” Trainer Aidan O’Brien, meanwhile, has said a decision will come later on whether the G1 1000 Guineas winner Hermosa (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) joins Pretty Pollyanna in the Irish edition or steps up in trip for the G1 Investec Oaks the following weekend. “Pink Dogwood is there [in the Oaks] and it is going to depend on how she is,” O’Brien said. “We had other fillies that ran well in the Guineas, like the filly Ryan rode [Just Wonderful], so do we let Hermosa go up to a mile and a half and let her run in the Oaks with Pink Dogwood, or do we let her go back to The Curragh? The boys will make that decision.” The post Irish Guineas For Pretty Pollyanna appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
