Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 15, 2019 Journalists Share Posted May 15, 2019 Dual G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) was removed from the May 31 G1 Coronation Cup on Wednesday morning. Trainer John Gosden told Racing Post that a seasonal debut at Royal Ascot is the new plan for the 5-year-old, who has a three-peat in the Arc in October as her key target. “She is in good order,” the trainer said. “We’re pointing right now to Royal Ascot for either the [G1] Prince of Wales’s S. or the [G2] Hardwicke S. We’re aiming towards the first weekend of October [the Arc], so we certainly didn’t want to be bringing her out very early in the year. We’re looking at Ascot and then the [G1] King George.” Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to Enable’s owner/breeder Khalid Abdullah, suggested to Racing Post the Prince of Wales’s is the most likely option. “In principle she will run in the Prince of Wales’s but we will also be looking at the Hardwicke, so we are definitely not committing yet to one race over the other,” he said.
